President Message
Since its establishment in 1916, the Daido Steel Group has contributed to society through manufacturing by developing high value-added products and innovations to existing products, which have been supported by advanced technologies based on specialty steel products. Beginning with the automotive industry, the possibilities inherent in specialty steel materials have supported the development of many industrial sectors, including fields such as aircraft, ships and IT equipment. At the Daido Steel Group, we have met society’s needs and expectations by continually pursuing these possibilities as the leading company in specialty steel products.
The environment affecting the Daido Steel Group continues to undergo tremendous change, ranging from economic globalization to environmental problems and energy issues. Faced with these challenges, we will continue to work from three points of view to seize these changes as opportunities and focus on further development.
First, we will “further strengthen our manufacturing capabilities.” We will strive to realize cost reforms, and seek to further deepen the manufacturing competitiveness Daido Steel has cultivated, through enhancements to our absolute competitiveness from a technology and quality perspective and through manufacturing process innovations.
Second, we will “strengthen our relationships with the market.” To support the newly developing country markets and environment-related businesses that are expected to undergo rapid development in the future, we will strengthen bonds with our customers and pursue the acquisition of new markets with an ahead-of-the-pack stance that does not fear change.
Finally, we will “strengthen employee development.” As we prepare to celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2016, we will devote resources to training individuals who are capable of leading the way in the new century, and work to achieve further growth and development.
The Daido Steel Group seeks to be a “creative and unique corporate group that contributes to 21st century society,” and we will continue to be a “corporate group that is moving forward” and can fulfill the trust and expectations of its shareholders, customers, employees and society.
