 Principle

1.Oxygen
A sample is put into a graphite crucible, the crucible is placed between electrodes, and the crucible is electrically heated to melt the sample.
Oxygen emitted from the melted sample is bound to carbon in the crucible, and the resulting carbon monoxide (CO) (or carbon dioxide (CO2)) is measured by infrared detector(s). Measured gas concentration(s) is converted to the rate of content.
2.Nitrogen
Nitrogen gas (N2) emitted from the melted sample is measured by a thermal conductivity detector. Measured gas concentration is converted to the rate of content.
3.Hydrogen(EMGA930 only)
Hydrogen gas (H2) emitted from the melted sample is oxidized to water (H2O), and the resulting water is measured by an infrared detector. Measured gas concentration is converted to the rate of content.
